Spinning till dizziness throws off equilibrium,
She falls to the ground panting with laughter.
The breeze takes breath away as the ledge grows,
Becoming a dancefloor for "16 Going On 17."
The cold rain and sharp knife of temperature drop
Cut to the bone but the wound quickly heals
When a smile becomes balm for the physical hurt.
A narrow tunnel of worldview is widened
And the wide end of the funnel surprises all
Who watched her grow up into this thing she's become.
Marble figures overshadow the clay forms.
Yet Hermoine was saved by Pauline,
And the statues live for the king's delight.
A story of snow and misplaced birth
Is shot through with golden beams of light.
It is a rainbow that shows the promise contained
In this kaleidoscope of life.
